Polar Capacity in Almedalen: Who can solve the capacity challenge – and how?
Welcome to our seminar in Almedalen on Tuesday the 5th of July. It is becoming increasingly common that municipalities and companies are stopped in their expansion plans due to lack of electric capacity. In this seminar we discuss the way forward together with a panel of experts from the energy sector with extensive experience in government and policy-making.
Since the problems often arise on the local level we discuss if the solutions shouldn’t also be developed from a bottom-up approach? It might be both faster and cheaper to manage the capacity shortage on a municipal or regional level, rather than having to wait for large-scale national solutions. And if so, do we have a regulatory system that supports this? And who is willing to invest?
Participants:
Mikael Odenberg, former General Secretary Svenska Kraftnät
Anna Wolf, acting CEO, Power Circle
Håkan Jönsson, CEO, Gävle Energi
Alf Engqvist, CEO, Göteborg Energi
Per-Ola Mattsson, Chairman of the municipal board, Karlshamn
Peter Nygårds, Moderator
