Full house in Almedalen

On the 5th of July, Polar Capacity hosted a seminar in Almedalen focusing on the upcoming capacity challenges – and the potential solutions.

Mikael Odenberg, former Director General for Svenska Kraftnät, opened the seminar. A panel discussion followed, with participants Per-Ola Mattson, Chairman of the municipal Board of Karlshamn Municipality; Anna Wolf, acting CEO of Power Circle; Alf Engqvist, CEO of Göteborg Energi; and Håkan Jönsson, CEO of Gävle Energi.

Despite the heavy competition at the political week in Almedalen, the venue was packed with people and great engagement from participants and the audience.

The seminar touched on the energy market’s functionality and pricing and the expansion of distribution and transmission grids. There was a broad agreement around the belief that solutions that manage and add capacity locally will play a key part in solving the challenges at hand.
